  • Bethel City Guide

    Formed in 1855, Bethel is a small New England town located in northern Fairfield County. It is only 60 miles northeast of New York City and 50 miles southwest of Hartford. Visitors can easily travel to town via State Routes 6, 53 and 58 as well as Interstate 84. Bethel neighbors Brookfield, Danbury, Redding and Newtown. With a population of just over 18,000, the town is an ideal place to visit if you’re looking to experience small town New England.

  • Bridgeport City Guide

    As Connecticut’s most populated city and New England’s fifth largest city, Bridgeport is home to over 144,000 residents. In New England, only Boston, Worcester, Providence and Springfield are larger. Bridgeport is situated along the Pequonnock River and Long Island Sound in Fairfield County. The city offers 1,300 acres of public land for parks and is divided into 13 different neighborhoods on its 16 square miles of land.

    Brookfield is situated in the southern foothills of the Berkshire Mountains. It has a population of approximately 16,500 residents and is located in northern Fairfield County.   The community is growing and features four public schools, one private school and a number of nursery schools.

    Danbury is located in northern Fairfield County. It is just 70 miles from New York City.   • Darien City Guide

    Darien is located in Fairfield County and is one of the smaller communities along the “Gold Coast” of Connecticut. It’s population is approximately 20,000. Darien made CNN Money’s list of top-earning towns coming in at #9 in 2011. Located between Norwalk and Stamford, Darien is a bedroom community with few office buildings. Residents commute to neighboring cities, with a large number working in Manhattan.

  • Essex City Guide

    Essex is a town located in Middlesex County. It’s population is approximately 6,7000. The town consists of three villages including Essex, Centerbrook and Ivoryton. Transportation in Essex is convenient as it is part of the Estuary Transit District.

    Public transportation is provided throughout Essex and the neighboring towns by way of its 9 Town Transit Service. Services in this district include connections to the Old Saybrook Train Station, which is served by Amtrak and Shoreline East railroads. Visitors to Essex are able to explore the area with ease and convenience through these services.

    Fairfield is located in Fairfield County and is bordered by Bridgeport, Trumbull, Easton, Redding and Westport. It is along what is known as the Gold Coast of Connecticut because of its concentration of wealth. Money magazine ranks Fairfield as the 9th Best Place to Live in the United States as well as the Best Place to Live in the Northeast.

    Greenwich is located in Fairfield County and has a population of over 60,000. The town is home to a number of large financial service companies. It is the southernmost and westernmost community in Connecticut and is only a short train ride from Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan.

  • New Canaan City Guide

    New Canaan is located in Fairfield County, just 8 miles northeast of Stamford. With a population of over 19,730 residents, New Canaan is among the wealthiest communities in the entire country. It was ranked fifth wealthiest town in the nation on CNN Money’s list of top-earning places in the United States. In 2008, the town had the highest median family income in the country. New Canaan consists several sections including New Canaan Center, Talmadge Hill, Ponus, Smith Ridge Road, Pinneys Corners and a portion of Silvermine.

    New Haven is the second-largest city in Connecticut and the sixth-largest in New England with a population of over 130,700 people. It is the principal municipality in Greater New Haven and is located in New Haven County on New Haven Harbor on the northern shore of Long Island Sound.     Newtown is located in Fairfield County and is considered part of the greater Danbury metropolitan area. The town is located in the norther part of Fairfield County and is only 45 miles southwest of Hartford and 42 miles northeast of New York City.   • Norwalk City Guide

    Norwalk is a city located in Fairfield County. It has a population of approximately 85,600 residents, making it the sixth in population in Connecticut. Norwalk is part of the New York Metropolitan Area. Oyster farming has been an historically significant industry in Norwalk. As a result, it has been dubbed “Oyster Town.” Visitors come from are and wide each year for the town’s annual Oyster Festival each September.

    Stamford is located in Fairfield County and has a population of over 125,000 people. It is the third largest city in the state of Connecticut. The city is only 30 miles from Manhattan and is part of the Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk Metro area which is a part of the Greater New York metro area.     West Hartford is a town in Hartford County with a population of approximately 63,300. The town is essentially an upmarket inner-ring suburb of Hartford. The downtown area of West Hartford is known as West Hartford Center. It consists mainly of Farmington Avenue and South/North Main Street. West Hartford Center has served as the hub of the community since the late 17th century. Blue Back Square was added in 2008 as the newest addition to the central area.
