  • We had to level out the playing field with this one since no trip to Connecticut is complete without trying some New Haven-style pizza at least once. Known as Apizza (pronounced a-beets) among Italian-Americans in Southern Connecticut, New Haven pizza is beloved by Connecticut residents, many who consider it to be the epitome of pizza. Thankfully, New Haven is not the only city in CT where you can find Frank Pepe’s famous pizzas. Check out their website at: for all of their locations and do yourself a favor and go grab a pie!

I still don’t see how it is so popular. Good pizza, but nothing special. Remo’s in Stamford and Colony in Stamford are the best pizza places in Fairfield County without question.

    2. Jill Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana

Love the clam pizza. Never knew I would liken clams on pizza but don’t knock it till you try it!

    3. Martin Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana

The one in Danbury isn’t as good as the original one in New Haven. Just sayin’! I moved to Danbury and was a bit disappointed to find out Frank Pepe here is different.

    4. Jerry Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana

Very good but there are many great pizza places in CT. Frank Pepe is up there for sure but CT knows pizza!

    5. Paul Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana

The one in Danbury is not as good as the one in New Haven. Go to New Haven for East Coast Pizza! Fugetaboutit!

    6. Amy Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana

Great pizza, but definitely not as good as Colony. The white clam pizza is my personal favorite but i’ll take a Colony Hot Oil Pizza any day over Frank Pepe…just my honest opinion.

    7. Sal Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana

Frank Pepe is definitely good, but I noticed certain locations don’t make the original New Haven style pie. The New Haven location is worth visiting if you haven’t experienced real east coast pizza. Also check out Colony Grill in Stamford – it has the best thin crust around
